Duncan is an AVID school!
The AVID program is geared toward preparing all students for college readiness and success in a global society. AVID incorporates strategies using Writing, Inquiry, Collaboration, Organization and Reading (WICOR). AVID will be the foundation for us to continue to provide high quality standards-based instruction as we prepare our students for success. As part of this new program, each student will need the following items:

- 3" binder, pencil pouch (with three holes for binder),
- 7 tab index dividers
- School Wide Agenda - to be purchased at schedule pick-up
- Other supplies may be required by specific teachers.

TargetPTO's Panther Proud program is a school wide program that fosters kindness and respect on campus and beyond. PTO and staff recognize students though bi-weekly campus shout outs. All students that receive shout outs are entered into a raffle where one student from each grade level wins a raffle prize. Also, all nominated students are featured in a bi- weekly lunchtime slide show that highlights positive behaviors, student shout outs and positive messages!
If you would like to donate $10 gift cards to the Panther Proud Program, please drop them off at Student services in an envelope marked PTO - Panther Proud.
We are looking for the following gift cards:
Target, Tropical Smoothie, Blaze Pizza, Chick Fil-A
Starbucks, Xbox, Visa, Chipotle

Ways You Can Help
There are many ways to support the PTO, help teachers and staff, and play a direct role in making this school year the best it can be for our students. If you have an hour or two to volunteer, we need you!! There are many non time-consuming activities needing volunteers such as book fairs, school dances, fundraising, office or classroom work and/or join the PTO.
